KARGIL MAY 07, 2021: In order to review the necessary arrangements made for the inbound laborers of GREF for construction works of the Nimo-Padum-Darcha (NPD) Road, the acting Sub Divisional Magistrate Zanskar (SDM) Zanskar Tsering Nurboo along with the Magistrate COVID-19 mitigation measures Talib Hussain and Incharge Police Post Zanskar ASI Nawang Stanzin conducted a surprise inspection of the quarantine centre established by the 126 RCC GREF at Kelima here on Thursday.
Around 1500 laborers have been kept under quarantine for 7 to 14 days as per the COVID-19 SOPs at the quarantine centre situated at the isolated area near Kelima far away from the residential villages.
These laborers have been brought by the contractors to engage in GREF Zanskar for construction works of the Nimo-Padum-Darcha (NPD) Road.
The acting SDM also inquired about the health and wellbeing of all laborers and stressed the concerned officials of GREF not to let them mingle with other batches as they have arrived in several batches.
The laborers were also advised not to visit any other side of the isolated place till the completion of their quarantine period.
En route, the SDM along with the other concerned officers also inspected the necessary screening facilities at police check post and screening point at Zangla for passengers, who are arriving in the sub division via Singhay La which was declared open for vehicular traffic from 6th May, 2021.
