CALLS UPON YOUNGSTERS TO MUST EXERCISE RIGHT TO FRANCHISE TO FURTHER STRENGTHEN ETHOS OF DEMOCRACY

In a bid to create awareness amongst the young voter regarding voting rights, district administration Jalandhar has launched a slew of initiatives under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program.

Divulging the details, Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) Ojasvi Alankar said that the district administration has adopted multi-pronged strategy to spread awareness among voters for their right to franchise so that maximum voting was ensured on poll day i.e. February 20, 2022. A number of educational institutions were also roped in so as to make this drive a mega success in Jalandhar, he said adding that poster making, slogan writing, painting competition dedicated to ethical voting were also being held in these institutions.
He further mentioned that initiatives like Doodle Art Series, Wall Paintings, Street Play, releasing of voters’ awareness song `Jugni’ were becoming an attraction point among youngsters. Messages and slogans from famous artists were also prepared by the administration to further disseminate them among youth through social media platforms. A special logo for SVEEP activities was also designed in collaboration with GNA besides a dedicated song Jugni was also recorded and shot in collaboration with Ramanpreet Kaur CEO Shamsheer Production, HMV College Jalandhar. Mr. Alankar thanked the NGOs and Educational Institutions for their active participation in this campaign while further soliciting their support and cooperation for future endeavors of district administration Jalandhar in this direction.
He reiterated administration’s commitment to sensitize maximum voters for use of their voting right judiciously as the campaign would be further intensified in coming days. He stated that no stone would be left unturned to make this awareness campaign successful in the district.
Meanwhile, Director of this song Ramanpreet Kaur while sharing her experience said that the song was written and directed within a short span of time of two days. She thanked district administration Jalandhar for making her a part of SVEEP campaign and offered fulsome support in future also.
