An attempt to suppress the campaign for empowerment of Dalit community through political interference —- Kainth
Chandigarh, May 28: The National Scheduled Castes Alliance (NSCA) has appealed to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal to field one of the Scheduled Caste candidates for the Rajya Sabha in Punjab. Paramjit Singh Kanth, President of the National Scheduled Castes Alliance, said that the Aam Aadmi Party has 29 MLAs, including Kulwant Singh Mohali belonging to the Scheduled Castes. Ignoring the Scheduled Castes as members of the Rajya Sabha is an attempt to suppress the campaign of political empowerment of 35 per cent of the society. The National Scheduled Castes condemns the Aam Aadmi Party for creating deprivation of political representation. Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal is appealed to reconsider the candidature of Rajya Sabha members and send Scheduled Caste leader to Rajya Sabha from Punjab, so that the Dalit community can get proper representation in the Upper House of the Indian Parliament.
