Led by Chief Minister S Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is emphasizing on the multi pronged development of the state, under which crores of funds have been allocated and approved for developmental works in Barnala. Lion’s share of Rs 25 crores have been approved for the road network alone in Barnala.

Member of Parliament S Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said this while laying the foundation stone for renovation of Sanghera-Jhaloor road costing Rs 1.64 cr. The renovation of this 9.70 km road, which is 18 feet wide, will bring great relief to the people traveling from Sanghera to Sherpur and Dhuri areas. He also laid foundation stone of Sanghera-Sherpur (Via Kheri Nangal) renovation work costing Rs 4.17 crores, which is about 13 km in length.
Apart from this, he laid the foundation stone for the construction of Phirni Wali (Karamgarh to Kothe Kheri Wale) road of village Karamgarh. The work of this nearly 3.40 km road will be done at an estimated cost of Rs 37 lakhs.

He said that the government has released funds to the tune of Rs 25 cr for the renovation of roads, with which more than 75 kms of road stretches will be repaired and laid. These include about 30 different road works, which will bring great relief to the people of Barnala constituency.Prominent among others included OSD Hasanpreet Bharadwaj, PWD XEN Davinder Pal Singh and others.
He said that the roads of many villages like Jhaloor, Karamgarh, Jhaloor to Nangal, Sanghera to Jhaloor, Dhanula – Bhathalan, Jhalur Phirni, Karamgarh Phirni and many other roads were in very poor condition posing problems for the villagers and commuters.
He said that the roads where Rs 25 crores will be spent on renovation, repairing and laying shall include Barnala-Bajakhana Road to Khuddi Kalan, Barnala Bajakhana Road to Kothe Ramsar, Kothe Dhilwan, YS Public School (NH 64) to Handiaya, from Karamgarh Mandi to Samadhan, Sekha – Farwahi Road to Dera Baba Karam Chand, roads of Bikka Sooch patti area, Cheeman to Patti Sekhwan to Barnala, Kothe Sran Road, Kothe Chunghan, Nangal village Phirni, Amla Singh Wala/ Bhaddalwad Road, Jhaloor to Karamgarh Road, Rajgarh village to Gurudwara Sahib Road, Sangrur Barnala Road to Harigarh road, Kattu to NH-07 via Bhaini Mehraj (including Kattu Village Firni), Dhanaula to Dangarh road, Khuddi Kalan Phirni including around 30 works of various villages’ roads.
