Our grandmothers have always emphasised on the importance of consuming ghee and told us about their benefits innumerable times. But we being the “diet conscious” generation, have not listened to them much. During the pandemic, they have yet again been proved right by a number of renowned doctors. Lets have a quick recap of what our dadis and nanis taught us.
The pandemic had forced everyone to stay at home. This had freaked many of the health conscious people with fear of getting fat. But staying at home can actually keep you fit if you cut on packaged products. There’s no lack of activity in home, from household chores to office work. There is absolutely no scope of getting fat if you actually cook more meals at home. One of the things that is highly recommended is to eat Ghee because it is extremely important. It allows your body access to essential fats. All of the fat soluble vitamins can actually be assimilated in your system every time you have ghee. Vitamin D is linked to the immune function. For eyes, Vitamin A is good. Vitamin K is important for the heart. All these vitamins dissolve in your system and help you feel healthy. A teaspoon of ghee for breakfast, lunch and dinner is beneficial.
Besides ghee, having nuts is also good for health. If you have low hemoglobin or iron, or simply having mood swings, add a little bit of jaggery to chana. Jaggery is very good for the mood especially if it comes with cashew nuts or chana. It is advised to eat traditional Indian food as it possesses a lot of nutrition and helps keep the body and mind in check.
