Bhagwant Mann led AAP government trying to mislead courts on matter of interviews of Lawrence Bishnoi from Punjab Jails: SAD

— High Court monitored Independent enquiry can only expose the truth in the matter: Bikram Singh Majithia

Chandigarh, December 15:
Shiromani Akali Dal today accused Bhagwant Mann led AAP government for trying to mislead Punjab and Haryana High Court on issue of interviews of Gangster Lawrence Bishinoi from Punjab Jails and party urged High Court to order independent enquiry into the matter under its own monitoring.
In a statement released here today, Former Minister and Senior SAD leader Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia said that it was shocking that AAP government has submitted in High Court that there was ‘unlikely’ possibility of interview being conducted from Punjab Jails.

He said that truth of the matter is that when first interview of the Gangster Bishnoi was aired on a TV Channel, at that time Punjab Police had claimed that look of the Bishnoi was different when he was brought into Punjab Police custody and Punjab Police had released latest images of the Gangsters. He said that very next day latest interview was aired again by same channel in which he was donning same images as described by Punjab Police. He said that this fact makes it ample clear that he might be custody of the Punjab Police and launched in Bathinda Jail when this interview was conducted. He said that it appears that action of the Gangster at that time was also aimed at embarrassing the government by giving interview in outfit and look as described by the Punjab Police.

Mr. Majithia said that is was most unfortunate to see that Chief Minister who was comedian prior to joining politics has turned whole law and order situation the state into a comedy circus in which Industrialists, Traders and common people were getting extortion calls, getting murdered and widespread drugs menace is destroying youth of Punjab. He also gave example of an property developer who got extortion calls and was provided bullet proof car and security by CM Bhagwant Mann but still had to give Rs. 10 crore to Gangsters to save his skin. He also said that when a person close to CM could have to face such a situation, one can easily understand what a common man would have to do.

He urged the Punjab and High Court, which took suo moto notice of interview matter, to order independent enquiry into this whole issue under its own monitoring as officers who are reporting directly to the CM, Home Minister and Jail Minister were not expected to present true facts before the court blaming their own Chief Minister.

He said that for saving Punjab and ensuring complete Law and Order situation, such enquiry was need of the hour.
