Congress has suffered a major setback in Jalandhar before the municipal elections. On Saturday, 10 Congress councilors from Jalandhar joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann formally inducted and welcomed all the councilors into the party.
On this occasion, Aam Aadmi Party MP from Jalandhar Sushil Kumar Rinku, Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh, MLA Raman Arora, AAP Punjab General Secretary Jagroop Singh Sekhwan, AAP leader Rajwinder Kaur Thiara and Jalandhar Rural Incharge Steven Kaler were also present.
Deepak Sharda, Om Prakash, Des Raj Jassal, Bal Krishan Bali, Sunil Kumar Sodhi, Vijay Bhatia and Dalvinder Kaur, all from Jalandhar north, joined the party, while Samsher Khehra, Mannu Warring and Manmohan Singh Raju of Jalandhar Central joined the party.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that our government is working for the common people of Punjab. Influenced by the policies of the Aam Aadmi Party, people from all over the country including Punjab are continuously joining the party. He said that like the assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party will register a historic victory in the upcoming municipal elections also.
