By undergoing trainings conducted by the University women can become self-reliant: Registrar Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University
Chandigarh, December 21 – Registrar, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Dr. B.R. Kamboj said that by undergoing trainings being conducted by the University women can become self-reliant. Moreover, women can also enhance their income along with raising their families.
He was speaking at the University as a Chief Guest on the last day of a five-day training camp held for imparting training to women belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes to make them self-reliant and self-employed. The training was organised at the Saina Nehwal Agricultural Technology Training & Education Institution of the University in collaboration with Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes at Sirsa Road.
Professor of Department of Foods and Nutrition, Ms. Varsha Rani gave detailed information of all types of pickles-jam, candy, squash, chutney, jam, tomato sauce, fruits and vegetables to the trainees. Director of Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes, Dr. S.S. Dahiya gave a talk regarding setting up a value-adding unit and self-help groups. Dr. Nirmal Singh gave information about the financial aspects, while Dr. Devendra Singh highlighted the importance of green leafy vegetables. Dr. Pavitra Kumari gave detailed information about mushroom production and various products made from it.
