Case registered against Sub Inspector in lieu of accepting bribe

Haryana State Vigilance Bureau (SVB) has registered a case against a Sub Inspector of Police Station Tauru District Nuh in lieu of accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000.
Sharing more details, spokesman of the Bureau said that the SVB Gurugram has registered a criminal case against Sub Inspector Mahender Singh of Police Station Tauru, District Nuh in lieu of accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000 from Mohd. Arsad of Village Bhadangpur.
The spokesman said that Mohd. Arsad resident of Village Bhadangpur District Nuh had informed the Bureau that he had filed a complaint on CM Window Portal regarding transfer of money through Google Pay. The said Sub Inspector called him to the police station regarding his complaint and threatened him that he will be arrested in a human trafficking (kabootarbazi) case.
The Sub Inspector then had asked for bribe of Rs. 50,000 to save him from the case and ultimately agreed for Rs. 20,000, said the spokesman.
He said that on receiving the information, a case was registered in SVB, Gurugram. A team headed by Inspector. Ramanand was constituted and Mr. Dilbag Singh, District Planning Officer was appointed as Duty Magistrate. Sub Inspector Mahender Singh accepted the bribe of Rs. 20,000 from complainant Mohd. Arsad in the presence of shadow witness. Upon seeing the raiding team of SVB, the accused Sub Inspector fled from the scene in a commercial vehicle.
A case under section 7 PC Act has been registered in this regard. Investigation of the case is in progress and strenuous efforts are being made to arrest the said accused.
The spokesman said that in an another matter Rs. 3,39,250 have been recovered from the contractor on the recommendation of SVB. A special checking of under construction wall and road of Chaudhary Charan Singh Agriculture University, Hisar was carried out by the technical team of SVB. It was found that the contractor used substandard construction material in the said work.
The spokesman said that recommendation was made to the Government to recover the amount from the contractor and to initiate action against delinquent officers. Now, on the directions of the Government, the University administration has recovered the said amount from the contractor and issued show-cause notices to the concerned officers.
