KARGIL, AUGUST 18, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan on Tuesday convened a meeting with the consultants appointed for conservation and development of Apo Bazar as Silk route tourist attraction.
During the meeting which was held at the Council Secretariat Kurbathang, the consultants gave a detailed presentation to the CEC regarding their future plan of action, and proposed ideas and concepts to develop the oldest market as a silk route tourist attraction site.
The consultants presented the project concept and preliminary details and said that they are going to conduct a workshop with the stakeholders of the Apo Bazar shortly to present to them the project concept.
CEC Khan while expressing satisfaction over the proposed plan by the consultants expressed optimism that the project will go a long way in restoring the Apo Bazar to its traditional glory. He also said that the coming up of the conserved and developed market will also prove helpful in attracting maximum number of tourists to Kargil Town thereby enhancing the local economy.
