Asks officers concerned to take all requisite measures for ensuing winter season
KARGIL SEPTEMBER 04, 2020: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan along with the Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan and Deputy Commissioner/District Magistrate and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary took stock of patient care facilities and requisite preparations of healthcare facilities for the coming winter season at the dedicated COVID-19 Hospital Kurbathang Kargil here on Thursday.
The visit was held in wake of the feedback received from the team of Doctors from PGI Chandigarh, NCDC Delhi and Safdarjang Hospital Delhi who were on a 2 day visit to the district to take overall appraisal of the COVID-19 situation here.
Officers of the Health and PWD Department besides other concerned officers accompanied the CEC, EC Health and the Deputy Commissioner during the tour.
The CEC inquired from the officers about the present status of patient care facilities available to the patients and the ongoing works for the establishment of laboratory, central heating, oxygen bank, residential facilities to doctors and paramedical staff besides the necessary renovation works in the hospital.
Taking stock of the ongoing works, CEC Khan stressed the officers of Mechanical and PWD to ensure completion of all ongoing construction works besides the establishment of oxygen bank and central heating system by the end of September so that the hospital infrastructure remains in complete readiness for the ensuing winter season.
The officers concerned informed the CEC that a 16 bedded Post-COVID Rehabilitation Center has been established at the dedicated COVID-19 Hospital which will be made fully functional within 2 days.
With regard to the requirement of high end ventilators at the COVID-19 Hospital, the CEC and the DC instructed the concerned doctors to submit detailed proposal in this regard immediately so that these required ventilators are procured at the earliest.
Regarding the need for adequate number of Health staff particularly the nursing staff to attend to COVID positive patients, the CEC assured the officers of Health Department that the issue is under active consideration and requisite steps will be taken in a phased manner.
The CEC, EC Health and DC Kargil also visited the COVID-19 Testing Lab presently under its final stages of completion.
Earlier during the day, the doctors’ team from PGI Chandigarh, NCDC Delhi and Safdarjang Hospital Delhi were hosted for a lunch and interaction session with LAHDC and District Administration at Tourist Facilitation Center (TFC), Kargil.
