Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University inaugurates five day training programme for making SC/ST Women self-reliant
Chandigarh, December 10– Chaudhary Charan Singh, Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar inaugurated a five day training programme for SC and ST Women to make them self-reliant and help them to establish self employment opportunities. The training programme was organized in the Saina Nehwal Institute of Agriculture Technology, Training and Education of the University in collaboration with the Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes at Sirsa Road, Hisar.
Addressing the trainees on the occasion, Co-Director (Training) of the Institute, Ashok Godara said that self-employment oriented training is needed for the hour. He said that after getting training here, women can increase their income by setting up small scale industries at domestic level. He said that five days training will be imparted for testing of fruits, vegetables and value added products of food grains in the Institute.
Shashi Kumar Bhatia said that fruits and vegetables are the main sources of vitamin and mineral which are also integral sources of our daily diet.
D.K. Sharma shared detailed information about the equipment being used in processing of fruits and vegetables. Training Convener, Surendra Singh said that during this programme, all types of information regarding the process of drying pickles, jam, candy, squash, chutney, jam, tomato sauce, fruits and vegetables will be given to the participants.
