Children get their school in RTE lottery

Minister of State for School Education and General Administration Shri Inder Singh Parmar has opened an online lottery for free of cost admission of children from disadvantaged groups and weaker sections in the first admitted class of private schools under RTE. Shri Parmar informed that as per the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, priority has been given to the children affected by Corona virus in the online lottery system. MP is the leading state in the country to have an online lottery system under RTE. With this transparent system, parents will be told about the schools in their area and the seats available in them as well as allotment of seats to their children in the school on an online process. Shri Parmar congratulated the children selected in the lottery on being given their schools and wished them a bright future. Shri Parmar also praised the School Education Department and NIC for creating an online transparent system.

Commissioner, Public Instruction Smt. Jayshree Kiyawat said that a transparent and technology-based system has taken  admission in private schools under RTE. After document verification for online lottery, 1 lakh 72 thousand 440 children have become eligible, who are being given to the school by random method. The children who are getting allotment of schools are also being informed through SMS. Children will be able to take admission in their allotted schools till July 26. Fees of these children will be directly transferred online to the school account by the government as per rules. Director State Education Center Shri Dhanraju S informed that this year applications of 1 lakh 99 thousand children have come online under RTE. Of these, 1 lakh 5 thousand are boys and 94 thousand are girls. One lakh 9 thousand 258 applications have been received for nursery class, 55 thousand 996 for KG-1, 4080 for KG-2, and 29 thousand 407 for class I.
