Haryana Vigilance Bureau nabs EO accepting Rs 40,000 bribe

Chandigarh, July 6 :- Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has arrested Executive Officer of Municipal Council, Narwana red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000.

Sharing the information in this regard here today, the Bureau’s spokesperson informed that the complainant, a contractor of village Chattar in Jind district has accused Rajender Parsad, Executive Officer of seeking a bribe in lieu of passing the bill and facilitating the payment of construction work.

The complainant had approached the Vigilance Bureau which laid a trap and arrested the accused red-handed accepting Rs 40,000 in cash.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against the accused in Karnal. Further investigation is underway.
