CM flagged off Medical Mobile Unit Jeevan Dhara

HIMACHAL,NOVEMBER 18

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur flagged off Medical Mobile Unit Jeevan Dhara, Mobile Health and Wellness Centre from the Ridge Shimla for giving complete range of health care services for population living in remote, inaccessible, unserved and underserved areas of the State.

Chief Minister informed that keeping in view the unfavourable topography and to give good health care service delivery to the people, Jeevan Dhara was an ambitious step in this direction. He also informed the van would function as a Mobile Primary Health Centre. He told that to begin with 10 such mobile vans had been pressed into service to give free health care to the people. He mentioned that out of these ten vans, two each would be provided in Kangra, Mandi and Shimla districts and one each for Chamba, Kullu, Sirmaur and Solan districts.

Jai Ram Thakur mentioned that the Health and Wellness Van would have basic facilities such as diagnostic, testing facilities for various ailments. He said that the Jeevan Dhara would also have requisite drugs and supplies as prescribed for a Primary Health Centre. He said that Jeevan Dhara Van would have one Medical Officer, one Pharmacist, Laboratory Technician and Class-IV employee. He said that it would coordinate with Community Health Officer/ANM in Sub Centre- Health Wellness Centre. He said that free medical consultancy and screening would be provided to the patients in this Jeevan Dhara Mobile Health and Wellness Centre.

Chief Minister said that the health parameters of the State were one of the best in the country. He informed that State can boast of six medical colleges in government sector, one in private sector and AIIMS was also coming up at Bilaspur. He said that State Government was committed to give people best health care facilities of the State and Jeevan Dhara Mobile Health and Wellness Centre was another step in this direction.

Jai Ram Thakur also flagged off TB Detection Vans on the occasion. Six such TB Detection Vans would be pressed into service to ensure early detection of TB patients.Chief Minister also released a folder on Jeevan Dhara programme.

Health Minister Dr.Rajiv Saizal while welcoming the Chief Minister told that the State was fast forging ahead on path of progress and prosperity under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. He said that the Covid 19 situation in the State was far better than most of the neighbouring States.Secretary Health Amitabh Awasthi detailed salient features of this ambitious project.

Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Director NHM Dr. Nipun Jindal, Principal IGMC Dr. Rajneesh Pathania, Director Health Services Dr. Bharat Bhushan Katoch and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
