CORONA POSITIVE PATIENTS NOT TO FACE ANY PROBLEM REGARDING OXYGEN SUPPLY, CIVIL SURGEON


–DISTRICT RESIDENTS CALLED UPON TO EXTEND HELP IN VACCINATION, TESTING

In order to curtail the growing number of corona cases, district administration Barnala and health department is working on providing oxygen cylinders as well as medicines in time to the corona positive patients.
Giving this information here today during weekly facebook live session the Civil Surgeon Barnala Dr Harinderjit Singh said that on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mr Tej Partap Singh Phoolka, 97,644 samples have been collected so far. Of these 3439 people have tested positive. In the last 24 hours, 127 new cases have been received. On April 25, total 420 active cases were there in Barnala.

Giving details about vaccination he said that so far 41,333 doses of vaccine have been given. From May 1 onwards, people above 18 years of age shall also be vaccinated.
Answering a query on hospitals where corona positive patients can be admitted, the Civil Surgeon said that level 2 health facility of 50 bed is being run at the Sohal Patti health center where patients can be admitted. Similarly, another 30 bed facility is available at the Mehal Kalan health center. Presently, total 80 beds are available for corona positive patients and the capacity can be increased as per the need.
He added that presently 27 patients are admitted of which 18 are on oxygen supply. At government hospitals this facility is free of cost.
Giving details of the initiative of Barnala district administration he said that a whatsapp number 88377-25608 has been issued from where one can seek details of vaccination and testing nearer their homes. He added that if a person wants to give information about suspected case of corona, he or she can do that and the identity of person shall not be revealed.
District Mass Media Officer Kuldeep Singh appealed people to get vaccinated and continue covid appropriate behavior. Vaccination is being done free of cost and is safe.
