University attempts Limca Book of Records by cooking 75 types of Biryani

CT University on Wednesday honoured Punjab Youth Development Board chairman Sukhwinder Singh Bindra with “Inspiring Youth leader of Punjab” award for his untiring efforts to promote sports among the youths.
The award was given by Chancellor CT University Charanjit Singh Channi and Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh to Bindra and lauded his commitment of wiping drug menace from Punjab by inculcating the sports culture among the youth by distributing free sports kits among them.
Thanking the university, Sukhwinder Singh Bindra said that the board has been spearheading a campaign to promote sports among the youths of the state and distributing sports kits by roping industries. He said that Punjab government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is committed for the all-around development of the youth by channelizing their energy in the right direction.
Meanwhile for celebrating 75th Independence Day, the faculty and students of Hotel Management, Airlines and Tourism under the patronage of CT University in association with Cates Spices and Events by Just abhi.com has successfully attempted the Limca Book of Record for “75 Varieties of Biryani”. In this event, different types of nutritious and healthy biryanis were prepared keeping in mind high hygienic and quality standards. Some of the biryanis that were prepared during this event were Awadhi Veg Biryani, Rampur Degi Biryani, Doodhiya Biryani, Kozhi Veg Biryani, Mahi Biryani, Calicut chicken Biryani and many more were prepared and showcased in the University Campus.
The Chief Guest of the event Sukhwinder Bindra and District Coordinator Nitin Tandon were apprised the efforts of everyone those all who were involved from planning to execution of this mega event. The other guests included Chef Dr. Izzat Hussain, Owner Indian Splendid; Chef Sanjay Thakur from Indian Young Chef Association and freelancer Chef Jap Vir Singh.
On this occasion Prof (Dr) Varinder Singh Rana, Dean, School of Hotel Management informed that the main idea behind preparing most varieties of biryani was to celebrate Independence Day in a new and unique way. To witness this event, many Chefs and dignitaries from Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Dehradun, Shimla were present.
As per record guidelines, this attempt has been verified by government officials. The documents of the successful record attempt have been provided to record authority for inculcation in the Limca book of records.
Chancellor CT University Charanjit Singh Channi and Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh congratulated the Team School of Hotel Management, Airlines and Tourism for this achievement and said India is a major producer and exporter of rice which plays an important role in the development of Indian Economy.
