Culture, Tourism and Spirituality Minister Sushri Usha Thakur to inaugurate 40th anniversary celebrations of Bharat Bhavan

Culture, Tourism and Spirituality Minister Sushri Usha Thakur will inaugurate the various arts festival on the 40th anniversary of Bharat Bhavan. Sushri Thakur will also felicitate litterateurs, artists and theater artists at the National and State Award Ceremony on Sunday, February 13 at 6:30 pm at Bharat Bhavan. In the ceremony, selected personalities for the National Kalidas and Shikhar Samman will be honored. Sushri Thakur will also inaugurate the paintings of Ms. Durga Bai Vyam selected for Padma Shri, Illustration Art Exhibition- Surekha and exhibition of works of eminent artists.

Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism and Trustee Secretary of Bharat Bhavan Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla informed that this five-day festival based on various art disciplines will be held from February 13 to February 17, 2022 in collaboration with the Department of Culture. Art exhibitions of eminent artists will be open for art lovers and visitors from 2 PM to 8 PM till 27 February 2022. Admission to all the programs of the function will be free. The guidelines issued by the government for Covid-19 will be followed.

The function, organized at Bahukala Kendra Bharat Bhawan, will feature cultural activities like smooth music, engaging dance, slide shows, dance drama and poetry readings. On the first day of the function, a flute Saptak presentation will be given by the artists of Swara Venu Gurukul Indore under the direction of Shri Santosh Sant. On the second day, on February 14, at 12 noon, slideshow and dialogues will be organized by respected artists for Rupankar arts. At 7 pm, the play ‘Aakhri Vasant’ starring Shri Anil Rastogi, who was honored with the National Kalidas Award, will be presented by the artists of Darpan, Lucknow under the direction of Shri Shubhdeep Raha. The dance drama ‘Amritsya Narmada’ based on Kathak will be presented by Ms Suchitra Harmalkar and fellow artistes at 7 pm on the third day of the function.

Artists, litterateurs and theater artists will be honored in various categories with National Kalidas Samman and Rajya Shikhar Samman at Bharat Bhawan Muktakaash Manch. The National Kalidas Samman for Roopankar Arts will be given to Mr. Jyoti Bhatt of Gujarat for the year 2017, Ms. Ira Choudhary of New Delhi for the year 2018, Mr. Paramjit Singh of New Delhi for the year 2019 and Mr. Dhruv Mistry of Baroda for the year 2020. National Kalidas Samman for Rangakarma will be awarded to Dr. Anil Rastogi of Lucknow for the year 2019 and Shri Vaman Kendra of Mumbai for the year 2020.

Rajya Shikhar Samman for Hindi literature will be given to Shri Shaival Satyarthi of Gwalior for the year 2019 and Shri Hari Joshi of Bhopal for the year 2020. Similarly, for Urdu literature, Shri Naeem Kausar of Bhopal will be awarded for the year 2019 and Shri Devisharan of Bhopal for the year 2020. For Sanskrit literature, Dr. Rameshwar Prasad Gupta of Datia for the year 2019 and Prof. Rahas Bihari Dwivedi of Jabalpur will be awarded for the year 2020. For classical music, Pt. Prabhakar Laxman Gohdkar of Gwalior will be awarded for the year 2019 and Pt. Sajjanlal Brahmabhatt of Bhopal for the year 2020. For Roopankar arts, Shri Devi Lal Patidar of Bhopal will be given for the year 2019 and Shri Manish Pushkale of New Delhi for the year 2020. For the drama, Ms. Vaishali Gupta of bhopal was awarded for the year 2019 and Shri K.G. Trivedi for bhopal for the year 2020. For Tribal and Folk Arts, Mrs. Agnesh Kerkatta of Bhopal will be given for the year 2019 and Mrs. Purnima Chaturvedi for the year 2020. Similarly, Rajya Shikhar Samman for the rare instrument will be given to Shri Babulal Bhola of Sagar for the year 2019 and Dr. Varsha Agarwal of Ujjain for the year 2020
