Around 55 thousand beneficiaries in the district will get benefit of Rs. 8.20 crore per month

The state government is fully committed to the welfare of the every section of the society. Under various welfare schemes launched by the government to ensure social security of the needy, the government would now provide a monthly pension of Rs. 1500 instead of Rs. 750. It was disclosed by the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan after a virtual event held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh regarding the disbursal of certificates of enhanced pensions.
Disclosing this here today Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan said that 54,705 elderly, widows, destitute children and Diwang beneficiaries in the district would get a monthly pension of Rs. 1500 instead of Rs. 750. He said that eligible beneficiaries will get a benefit of Rs. 8.20 crore per month in the district.
Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Komal Mittal, Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan handed over certificates of enhanced pensions to five beneficiaries Dilbag Singh, Ranjit Kaur, Nirmal Kaur, Ishar Kaur and Ujagar Singh during the event in Mohali.
