KATHUA MAY, 17, 2021: District Development Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Yadav today released Evaluation study on Start Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) under National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) conducted by District Statistics & Evaluation Office Kathua here at DC Office Complex Kathua.
District Statistics & Evaluation Officer, Ranjeet Thakur; Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh and other staff members of DSEO Office were present at the release Ceremony.
The study was allotted by the District Level Evaluation Committee (DLEC) in which block Basholi of District Kathua was selected and 60 beneficiaries, 10 non-beneficiaries and 05 knowledgeable persons were also selected randomly for collecting primary data. The data was collected from such beneficiaries, non- beneficiaries, and knowledgeable persons from blocks Basholi by conducting door to door survey by the officials of DSEO Office Kathua.
While releasing the study, the DDC appreciated the efforts of all the staff members of DSEO Office Kathua who were involved in conducting and finalizing the said study.
He highlighted the findings of the study and pointed out the suggestions/ recommendations for consideration of the Rural Development Department for effective implementation of the scheme.
The suggestions drawn from the study includes spreading mass awareness about the scheme by organizing special camps with the involvement of the elected representatives of the areas. Moreover, it is recommended that the rate of interest should be reduced and interest of first six month should be waived off to encourage the new entrepreneurs besides, loan amount at SHG level should be enhanced from the maximum limit of Rs. 50,000 to atleast Rs. 1,00,000.
