Says situation improving, appeals people to stick to Covid-19 SOPs
KULGAM, MAY 19, 2021: Situation in district is gradually improving however people have to stick to Covid-19 SOPs for further improvement in the situation, said Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi- Ud-Din-Bhat during a press brief here.
With regard to availability of Oxygen in the district, the DC said that 1000 LPM Oxygen generation plant at District hospital is functioning properly besides concentrators and 160 bulk oxygen cylinders are also available and refilling of these cylinders is done on a regular basis.
He said medical kits are being provided to patients at home isolation containing essential medicines and proper follow up of positive patients is also ensured. At present there are 3160 positive cases under home isolation in the district and 55 patients are admitted at COVID-19 hospital at Kulgam, he added.
The DC assured that the Covid care drugs are available in the district and an aggressive testing mechanism is also in place to detect the positive patients.
He said 58 percent of the population above the age of 45 years stands vaccinated and the vaccination process across the district will be scaled up from tomorrow. He reiterated that the Administration has enhanced infrastructure with better healthcare facilities in the district to save the lives of people.
The DC appealed people for the cooperation and urged for sticking to the precautionary measures for containment of the disease. He also advised them to strictly follow the SOPs and guidelines issued by the administration so that the spread of this disease is curtailed.
