DC Ramban meets fire incident victims at Khari

Takes stock of property loss in devastating blaze
RAMBAN 29 JUNE,2021-
Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today visited Khari Tehsil soon after receiving reports of massive fire incident in Hijwa Bawa area.
As per the initial reports 12 houses were gutted in the blaze which occurred around noon. DDC Councillors, BDC Chairperson, ADC, SDM Banihal, and other officers accompanied the DC.
After receiving the information about the fire incident, the District administration mobilized the rescue teams of Fire and Emergency Service, which were assisted by Police, local youth and Army personnel in controlling the fire which broke out in a far flung area Hijwa Bawa  of   Khari  Tehsil. On the request of the Deputy Commissioner, a chopper of Indian Air Force also helped the rescue teams in dousing the fire.
Immediately after reaching Khari , the Deputy Commissioner inspected the site of the incident. He directed Tehsildar Khari  to immediately conduct a loss assessment and submit the report  to his office for processing relief cases for the victims as per norms. He assured every possible help from district administration for reconstruction of the damaged houses and restoration of the livelihood of the affected families.
Responding to the demand of locals, the DC assured to recommend for provision of additional fire tenders after the mandatory assessment.
The DC also provided immediate relief to the affected families on the spot, including ration and other necessary items.
Later, DDC Chairperson, Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan, also visited Khari and interacted with the fire victims and consoled them. She also took  stock of the situation and assured victim families that the administration will extend every possible help to construct their houses well before the start of winter season.
While interacting with the DC, she appealed to the District  Administration to provide every possible help to the victim families who are down-trodden.
