Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab’s senior leader and MLA Aman Arora termed the decision of Congress government of Punjab to regularize the services of sanitation staff as an electoral stunt, due to earlier decisions taken by Punjab government are not implemented at the ground level.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters here on Friday, MLA Aman Arora said, that the Congress government had not done any benevolent work in the last 15 years but now when the elections are so close, they are taking such decisions to seduce the employees and trying to seduce the common people through the announcements of cheap sand, cheap electricity and cable.
Mr. Aman Arora said that the decision of the Punjab Government to regularize about 4587 janitors, sewermen and other employees of the state will meet the same fate as the earlier announcement regarding 36,000 temporary employees. He said that during the entire tenure of the Congress government the employees had been staging dharnas and the unemployed educated youth had been lathicharged by the police for demanding government jobs. Although the Congress party has changed its Ali Baba (Chief Minister), the situation in Punjab has not changed. Even today, in every city of Punjab, temporary or contractual workers and unemployed youth have been staging dharnas, young people have been sitting on water tank towers for months for their demands.
Criticizing the Chief Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi, Mr. Aman Arora said that the “Announcer” Chief Minister has left no stone unturned in his various announcements through billboards, advertisements and speeches across the state but the common people, youth and employees of Punjab, are now aware. The people of Punjab will not be fooled by disingenuous decisions of the Congress government which are being taken only considering these upcoming elections. He said that Congress government could no longer save its sinking ship with false advertisements and pseudo announcements.
