KARGIL, JULY 11, 2021 In order to discuss the modalities for Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination in Kargil District, Director Animal and Sheep Husbandry (A&SH) Ladakh Dr Muhammad Raza Abbasi convened an emergency meeting of the concerned officers and doctors of Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments here today.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kargil Dr Muhammad Ismail, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kargil Dr Iftikhar Hussain, doctors of Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, various measures related to FMD vaccination in the district were thoroughly discussed and decisions were taken accordingly.
It was decided during the meeting that initially main focus of FMD vaccination shall be laid on Drass Sub Division.
Meanwhile, 7 teams were framed to carry out the vaccination process, each team headed by a doctor who shall be responsible to monitor the entire vaccination process.
The Director A&SH Ladakh stressed the doctors to work with dedication and commitment to ensure that no animal remains unvaccined so as to contain the spread of the FMD disease.
