Kharar/SAS Nagar, October 19, 2023:
In a major breakthrough, District Administrations got succeeded to end the blockade from Padiala road, today. The farmers lift the Dharna after getting assurance from the NHAI officials and gave consent to resume the work of road.
Divulging details, Deputy Commissioner, Mrs Aashika Jain said that the farmers and residents were sitting on dharna for the last many days demanding slip road, culverts for crossing of draining water and two bridges in village.
Today, Sub Divisional Magistrate Kharar Ravinder Singh alongwith DSP Mullanpur Dharamvir Singh and NHAI officials met the farmers and villagers. They discussed their issues in detail. During the bilateral talks, the farmers/villagers and NHAI reached on the consensus that the demands of the former would be met and the work to be resumed accordingly.
SDM Ravinder Singh and DSP Dharamvir who proved instrumental to break the deadlock assured the farmers/villagers that they would keep a close check on the construction work and it would be ensured that the issues raised by them should be resolved on priority.
The Farmers and Villagers acceded to the assurance of the administration and lifted the blockade from the road.
