Till now 2,900 applications have been approved, only 6.90 percent applications are pending
State Government is committed to enhance communication and mobile connectivity infrastructure
District Deputy Commissioner should immediately contact the Department of Telecom to resolve the connectivity issues of area concerned
Chandigarh, May 16 :– Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal said that 2,900 applications have been approved by the District Deputy Commissioners across the state for installation of Telecom Towers and laying of Optical Fiber Cable (OFC). Besides this, 312 applications which have been pending for the last 45 days will be disposed off in the next two to three working days. He said that now only 6.90 percent applications are pending in the state. The Chief Secretary while discussing the Communication and Connectivity Infrastructure Policy (CCIP) through video conferencing with the District Deputy Commissioners across the state directed them to dispose off the pending applications pertaining to Telecom Tower and OFC at the earliest.
He said that the State Government was committed to enhance the communication and mobile connectivity infrastructure and that the communication infrastructure is constantly evolving. The Chief Secretary elaborated that applications related to installation of telecom towers and approval for installation of optical fiber cable (OFC) are pending in some districts. The reasons for the pendency of these applications are either incomplete documents or non-deposit of fee and various other departmental approvals. He directed that the Deputy Commissioner should contact these operators as soon as possible and complete the applications immediately. If any operator is unable to submit the documents and fee etc., then his/her application should be cancelled.
Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal also directed the Deputy Commissioners that no operator’s application should be cancelled with immediate effect to clear the pending applications. Efforts must be made to get his application completed by contacting him. The Chief Secretary also sought the district wise status of pending Telecom Tower applications from all Deputy Commissioners and directed them to settle it at the earliest.
District Deputy Commissioner should contact the Telecom Department to get the tower installed immediately in areas facing connectivity issues
Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal said that telecom towers should be installed immediately in the districts still facing connectivity issues, be it mobile or internet network. All the Deputy Commissioners must identify such places and directly contact the Department of Telecom, Government of India.
During this meeting, Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue & Disaster Management and Consolidation Departments, Sh. P.K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, Sh. Apoorva Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to Govt., Haryana, Urban Local Bodies Department, Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, Sh. Vijayendra Kumar, Director General, Industries & Commerce, Sh. Mandeep Singh Brar were present. Additional Chief Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Department, Sh. Anil Malik and all District Deputy Commissioners joined through video conference.
