KATHUA, MAY 20, 2021:- District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) for the formation and promotion of the Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) scheme, PM- Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PM-FME) Scheme and Agri Infrastructure Fund Scheme today approved 10 Project DPRs here at its meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav.
Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh; Chief Agriculture Officer, Vijay Upadhaya; Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Development Manager, NABARD, District Manager, Lead Bank and Experts from Krish Vigyan Kendra attended the meeting.
The DDC held a detailed review of the implementation of schemes by the member departments.
It was informed that 04 FPOs are under formation with implementing agencies NABARD & NCDC under CSS-FPO scheme. The implementation agencies have already appointed CBBO for the implementation of the scheme and the process of conducting a baseline survey to arrange required manpower is on, the meeting was told.
The DDC said that the Central Government has initiated the formation and promotion of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) Scheme 2020-21, to boost the income of farmers. He said as per the scheme 10,000 FPOs will be made across the country in five years time I,e from 2019-20 to 2023-24 and Government of India will provide support for each FPO from 5 years of establishment.
The DDC said that the Farmers Producer Organizations (FPOs) are intended to provide a platform to small farmers to enable them to collectively meet their challenges such as access to agricultural inputs and marketing of produce. He also said that the government is trying to ensure that the capital cost of farmers is reduced, productivity is increased and farmers get fair prices for their produce.
The meeting approved 10 DPRs under the PM-FME scheme and it was decided to send these proposals to different banks for financing.
It was informed that 2 DPR under AIF scheme have already been submitted to different banks in the district.
