DO’s and DON’Ts if you have ‘Fatty Liver’

People with fatty liver disease often have a condition called insulin resistance. That means your body makes insulin but can’t use it well. Glucose builds up in your blood, and your liver turns it into fat.

However, if you have fatty liver, follow these tips as the best ‘home remedy’:

  • Exercise- Do exercise daily for around 30 minutes in the morning

 

  • Take enough sleep – Having adequate sleep for around 7 hours make your mind feel fresh throughout a day.

 

  • Loose weight – Obesity leads to the fatty liver. So keep a track on your weight also. Cut down all the fat containing items from your daily routine.

 

  • Control Diabetes – If you are having fatty liver and along with diabetes then you should control your sugar level. If your sugar level goes up then it will cause of tension.

 

  • Lower down your Cholesterol – Lower down your cholesterol level by curtailing the fried food from the routine. Addition to this, doing workout for 20 minutes in a day also helps in reducing your cholesterol level.

 

However, the doctors advice people to consume following food items to treat fatty liver:   

  1. Almond Milk
  2. Coffee
  3. Food rich in Vitamin E
  4. Water
  5. Olive oil
  6. Garlic
  7. Fruits and Vegetables
  8. Whole grain
  9. Fish or sea food

 

Also, you must avoid these ingredients:

 

  1. Diet Drinks – Consuming Diet drinks will lead to the damage to the liver.
  2. Butter and Ghee -Avoid too much of butter and ghee in your meals.
  3. Alcohol – Cut down the alcohol from your routine for next few months. As we all know that alcohol drinking worsen the liver functioning.
  4. Fried Food – Excess of fried food should be banned as they also cause harm to the liver. As the fried food add calories to your body weight.
  5. Salty Food -Food containing salt in excess than normal food enhances the fatty liver. As it contains more calories and directly linked to the weight gain.
  6. Beverages in excess sugar – Beverages like Coca Cola, Fanta, and Pepsi have excess sugar in it which is not allowed to consume during fatty liver.
  7. Desserts – Sweetened products like cakes, pastries, ice creams are not good for health.
  8. Red meat – Red meat is made up in spices which are not good for liver.
