EC Tashi reviews preparations for Traditional Food Festival Mamani
KARGIL JANUARY 12, 2021: Executive Councilor for Tourism Er Phunsog Tashi today convened a meeting regarding the preparations of the upcoming Traditional Food Festival Mamani scheduled to be held at Shargole on 20th January, 2021.
Executive Councilor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan, Chairperson Block Development Council Shargole Tsering Nurboo, Sarpanchs, Tehsildar Shargole and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
EC Tashi said that LAHDC, Kargil has decided to celebrate the Annual Mamani Festival at Shargole block on the proposal and request of the EC Health Muhammad Ali Chandan.
The EC further said that the Mamani festival is part of the annual events of the Department of Tourism Kargil and has been approved by the Department of Tourism UT Ladakh where the Lieutenant Governor Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur will be the chief guest.
EC Tashi added that the event will be organized under the supervision of Assistant Director Tourism Kargil with the support of Executive Councilor Health, Panchayat Body of Shargole adding that the community of Shargole Block will be given equal opportunity to participate in this event and the participants have already given their consent for their participation.
The EC Tourism added that cash prizes have also been proposed for winners of the food festival.
Meanwhile, the meeting was informed that a local level organizing committee has also been framed under the supervision of the Tehsildar Shargole where in BDC Chairperson and Sarpanchs of Shargole constituency will be the members who will provide all necessary support and suggestions for the successful conduct of the event.
