Haryana first state to prepare district level index for Sustainable Development Goal
Chandigarh, September 14 :– Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that as per the directions of NITI Aayog, all the departments should work as per the parameters to improve the ranking so that the Sustainable Development Goal Haryana-2030 can be achieved and the state can move forward towards the Sustainable and Inclusive Haryana-2047. The Chief Minister was presiding over the meeting of senior officers of various departments here today.
The Chief Minister said that the departments which are lagging in the ranking and parameters of Sustainable Development Goal Haryana-2030, should be given special attention and improvement should be done point-wise. He said that along with Deputy Commissioners, administrative officers should also be deployed in every district. They should hold monthly regular meetings to review the progress of the sustainable development goal.
Index prepared at district level for sustainable development
The Chief Minister said that Haryana is the first state in the country which has prepared an index at the district level to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal. In this, assessment is being done on the basis of performance of all the districts. Along with this, budget provision has also been made under different heads. He said that as per the report of Sustainable Development Goal-2030 index released by NITI Aayog, haryana’s score has significantly improved. The state is also moving ahead in the ranking.
Effective work on 17 key points
The Chief Minister said that in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal Haryana-2030, work is being done at the level of Additional Chief Secretaries. No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Reducing Inequality, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Environmental Action, life on land and peace, justice and strong institutions are key issues to be addressed. Better work is being done on improving these 17 parameters. He said that under Vision-2030, the government will work in collaboration with the society along with the private sector so that there will be no problem in achieving the Sustainable and Inclusive Haryana – 2047.
Ensuring school education to all children from birth to five years of age
The Chief Minister said that in order to provide quality education, a better plan has been prepared to ensure 100% elementary education by dividing it into five age groups according to the data received from the PPP. He said that every child is being reached out to provide school education in the age group of 5 years from birth. If a child is not enrolled in school, his parents will be sensitised for ensuring their enrolment. Apart from this, Ease of Doing business has been on the priority and better work is being done to further improve the environment.
On this occasion, a detailed presentation was made regarding the Sustainable Development Goal Haryana-2030 and Sustainable and Inclusive Haryana-2047. It was apprised during the meeting that what Haryana has achieved so far and what is to be achieved as per the Vision 2047 along with the sources required to achieve this goal.

VS Kundu, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Jails, Criminal Investigation and Administration of Justice Department, Sh. T.V.S.N. Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary Haryana, School Education Department, Dr. Mahavir Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Department, Smt. Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance and Planning Department, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, Sh. Anand Mohan Sharan, Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Smt. G. Anupama, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar along with other senior officers were present.
