Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that it is our endeavour to ensure that the cities of the state are complete in themselves and replete with human sentiments. For this it is important that the cities are clean, no child should go hungry in the city, no orphan should wander, we should plant trees in the city and celebrate the birthday or pride day of the cities. These activities will make our cities humane. Efforts should be made that our cities should not be only cement-concrete cities, but should have feelings of affection, love and proximity. The state government has started several activities to fulfill these resolutions which include reforms in night shelters, expansion of drinking water and sewerage schemes, improvement of roads. The work of changing lives of people is going on under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi. Our aim is to change the lives of the people of the state. Let us all work together to fulfill these goals. The government and the society should together attempt to transform the cities, this is our resolve. Let our cities become employable, developed and clean Let us work together to build such cities.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing a programme at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center, Bhopal organized for griha pravesh, bhoomi pujan and distribution of installment to beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan inaugurated the programme with kanya-pujan and by lighting the lamp. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan attended griha pravesh of beneficiaries in 50 thousand houses, bhoomi-pujan of 30 thousand new houses to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1155 crore and transferred Rs 250 crore in the accounts of 26 thousand 500 beneficiaries by a single click. . Chief Minister Shri Chouhan virtually interacted the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna(Urban) and granted allotment orders and housing possession letters to 5 beneficiaries of Municipal Corporation Bhopal.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that this day is fortunate for poor people whose dream of building a house is being realized today. It is the desire of every person to have his own house. Today this dream of more than One lakh 6 thousand beneficiaries is being realized. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is determined to build a glorious, magnificent, prosperous, powerful and Atmanirbhar Bharat. In this sequence, the state government is also working for the construction of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh. For this it is necessary to make the cities self-sufficient. Cities are engines of growth, they provide employment opportunities to many people. Our focus is always on how to make life easier for people living in cities.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has given many mantras for the development of cities. First Mantra – Every city should be the face of development of the state. Second Mantra – Life in cities should be easy for all. Third Mantra – Every person living in the city should get best quality of life. Fourth Mantra – however big the cities become, inequalities should be reduced. Fifth Mantra of Prime Minister Shri Modi – The city should be such that even the poorest of the poor get the opportunity to live with self-respect. The state government is working on these mantras of the Prime Minister. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that food, clothing and shelter, education, medicine and employment are the need of every person. The state government is working diligently to meet these requirements.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that every poor has a right to live. All the resources of the earth belong to all the people. With an aim to ensure a better life for every person, the work of giving lease to the homeless families was started. There is also a system of distribution of ration. Free ration is being provided to 4 crore 80 lakh people under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. Ration is also being made available under the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana. Strict action is being taken against those who commit irregularities in the distribution of ration in the state.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that so far 8 lakh 68 thousand houses have been sanctioned in the state, out of which 4 lakh 72 thousand houses have been completed. There are three types of options for the beneficiaries in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – In the first option, the construction of the house is done by the beneficiary himself in the beneficiary based self construction component. The second option is the PHA component in which housing is allotted to the beneficiaries by the urban bodies after constructing them. The third option is of loan-based subsidy. It is the resolve of the state government to provide pucca houses to every poor in the state.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that every person needs a plot of land to built a house and live in the state whether he is urban or rural. For those who do not have a plot of land, a campaign has been started by the state government to make them the owner of the land by giving them a lease under the Mukhyamantri Bhu-Awas Adhikar Yojana. Efforts are being made to provide basic facilities like LPG cylinder, drinking water, toilet to every household. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan congratulated those who have got house in today’s programme and said that those who have not got accommodation till now will also be provided accommodation.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that a campaign would be launched to convert the illegal colonies of the state into legal ones. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan appealed to the representatives of the urban bodies to work for the cleanliness survey by staying vigilant and alert. He said that cleanliness is essential for leading a healthy life. There are good results only through the involvement of the public in the cleanliness campaigns with the government officials. Therefore, every section of the society will have to join the cleanliness campaign and try to bring their urban body at the top in cleanliness. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan called upon all religious leaders, voluntary organisations, resident associations, volunteers, sanitation workers to make efforts to bring their city to at least three star rating.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that every village and city has its own culture, traditions and values. Therefore all 407 urban bodies must celebrate their birthday or Gaurav Diwas (pride day) on any one day in a year. Bhopal’s birthday, merger day will be celebrated on 1st June and Indore’s birthday will be celebrated on Mother Ahilya’s birthday. Invite all the people of your village and city on the birthday or Gaurav Diwas and make plans for the development of your area. Also many other types of activities can be conducted. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that passion and zeal is necessary to take our cities forward.
In the programme, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan presented house allotment certificate to Shri Bhopal’s Lakhan Singh Rajput, Shri Mukesh Chouhan, Smt. Rajkumari Shakya and house allotment certificate to Shri Ranveer Ahirwar and Shri Babulal Gaur and keys of houses as symbol of Grih Pravesh (home entry).
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also interacted virtually with various beneficiaries. The Chief Minister interacted virtually with Smt. Teeja Bai of Badnawar Municipal Council of Dhar district, Smt. Farzana of Jaora Municipal Council of Ratlam district, Shri Dolu Kol of Jethari Municipal Council of Anuppur and Smt. Gangabai of Mehgaon, Bhind. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also received information from the beneficiaries about the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and other schemes at the ground level.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan is fulfilling the dream of every poor person in the state. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has removed the state from the category of BIMARU state and made it one of the prosperous states. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has made powe as a medium of service. Prime Minister Shri Modi has participated thrice in the programmes of urban development implemented in the state. It is a matter of pride for the state. The department will leave no stone unturned to make the cities of the state clean, beautiful and developed as per the vision of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan.
