Health workers will not be able to go on strike for next 6 months now- Anil Vij

Chandigarh, January 11- Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that today ESMA has been implemented in Haryana considering the spread of pandemic Corona and now health workers will not be able to go on strike for next 6 months. A notification in this regard has also been issued.

Sh. Vij tweeted today that ESMA has been implemented in Haryana, now health workers will not be able to go on strike for next 6 months. This step has been taken due to a section of doctors who were wanting to go on strike.

Somebody wants to disturb the fight against Corona, so we had to apply ESMA – Vij

While talking to the mediapersons here today, he said that the whole country is fighting Corona and at such a crucial time a group of doctors has announced to go on strike which will adversely affect the fight against Corona. He said that “we had accepted their demands and forwarded them to the Chief Minister and other departments immediately. After meeting with the Chief Minister yesterday, their demands were fulfilled and were given in-principle approval.”  The doctors still insisted to go on strike.  To this, Sh. Vij said that “I think there is someone who wants to disrupt the fight against Corona that’s why we had to implement ESMA”.

Health Minister said that as per the notification, an emergent public health situation has arisen due to increase in the surge of COVID cases and at present any strike by the employees of Health Department, Haryana shall gravely affect the health and essential services. Therefore, it is in public interest to prevent strike by doctors or other employees working in various organizations of Health Department, Haryana such as National Health Mission, Food and Drug Administration & AYUSH. Similarly, he said that the strike by doctors or other categories of employees, including those employed on contractual daily wages, honorarium, etc. in various organizations of the National Health Mission, i.e. National Health Mission, Food and Drug Administration, AYUSH, etc. will now be prohibited under sub-section (1) of section 4-A of the Haryana Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1974 (40 of 1974), the Health Department, Haryana for a period of six months from the date of publication of this order in the Official Gazette.

Order issued regarding holding rally, demonstration, dharna, procession etc. in the state- Vij

While replying to another question, Sh. Vij said that orders have been issued regarding holding of rallies, demonstrations, dharnas, processions etc. in the entire state. He elaborated that the Election Commission has imposed restrictions in States where elections are to be held and Corona is spreading in the country, so we have imposed restrictions here as well.
