State to be Shivmay on Mahashivratri festival: CM Shri Chouhan
Shiva will be worshipped for happiness, prosperity and development in state
‘Mahadev’ Utsav- Art manifestations of Shiva Satya organized in 9 major cities
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that on the occasion of Mahashivratri, the entire state will pray to Lord Shiva. This festival of Mahadev will be celebrated in a grand manner in the state. A world record will be set by lighting 21 lakh lamps in ‘Shiv Jyoti Arpanam Mahotsav’ in city of Mahakal Ujjain. Along with this, prayers will be offered to Lord Shiva by organizing ‘Mahadev Utsav’ in different districts of the state. Shiva is our Lord. He will be worshipped for happiness, prosperity and development in the state.
Culture, Tourism and Spirituality Minister Sushri Usha Thakur informed that as per the intention of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, the holy festival of Mahashivratri would be celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety throughout the state. Minister Sushri Thakur has extended greetings and best wishes to all the people of the state on the occasion of Mahashivratri. The Culture Department will celebrate ‘Mahadev Utsav’, the art manifestations of Shiva-Satya, in 9 major cities in the state. Mahadev Utsav will be celebrated with the help of the local administration with the people in Mhow Indore, Kundeshwar Dham Tikamgarh, Triveni Art Museum Ujjain, Siddhanath Temple Panna, Bhojpur Temple, Amkhedakalu Vidisha, Pashupatinath Temple, Mandsaur, Omkareshwar and Maheshwar. There will be a variety of cultural, spiritual and intellectual activities dedicated to Lord Shiva during this time. Along with this, the holy festival of Mahashivaratri will be celebrated with full devotion and enthusiasm in various places and major temples of the state.
Akhil Bharatiya Kavi Sammelan at Bhojpur Temple
The three-day event of Mahadev Utsav will be inaugurated at the famous Shiv Mandir, Bhojpur. On the first day, on 1st March, Shri Asharam Sharma of Bhopal and his team will present folk songs, besides Shri Nishant-Prashant Malik of Delhi will also perform. Along with this, Shiv centric dance drama will be presented by Sangeeta Sharma and group of Delhi Badhai and Baredi folk dance will be presented by Shri Jugalkishore Namdev and team of Sagar. On the second day on Wednesday, Matki folk dance will be presented by Krishna Verma of Ujjain, Mumbai’s Sandhya Purecha and her group will perform Om Shiv Sarvamayam and Tripti Shakya of Delhi and team will perform devotional songs. Akhil Bharatiya Kavi Sammelan will be held on the last day of the festival, in which Dr. Kumar Vishwas of New Delhi, Sushri Shikha Deepti of Noida, Shri Shambhu Shikhar, Shri Madan Mohan Samar of Bhopal and Shri Sandeep Sharma of Dhar will recite poetry. Along with this, a painting camp will also be organized by the Government Institute of Fine Arts, Jabalpur on Shiva-centered painting.
Shiva Mahima Bhakti Sangeet to be organized in Mhow
Mahadev Samaroha will be held at 6:30 pm at Chakki Wale Mahadev Temple, Haat Maidan in Mhow. In this, Shiv Mahima Bhakti Sangeet will be presented by Sushri Tripti Shakya and group from Prayagraj, Bharatnatyam and Chhau dance form ‘Maheshwara’ by Rakesh Saibabu and group from New Delhi and Katthi dance by Sri Lakshmi Narayan and group of Harda. Along with this, an exhibition of watercolor paintings of 84 Mahadevs in Ujjain of painter Shri Amol Pawar will also be organized.
Three day Mahadev Samaroha in Ujjain
Mahadev Samaroha will be held from 1st to 3rd March at Triveni Art Museum in Ujjain, the city of Mahakal. Lectures based on Lord Shiva, painting camp, dance drama, group dance, devotional singing and folk singing will be organized in the function.
Shiva Mahima – Bundeli Folk Singing in Siddhanath Temple Panna
Gotipua and Gudumbaja dance along with Shiva Mahima Bundeli folk singing and devotional singing will be performed during Mahadev celebrations at Agastya Muni Ashram Siddhanath Temple from 4 pm onwards. Devotional singing will be presented by Sushri Muskan Chaurasia and colleagues of Balaghat, Gotipua dance by Shri Chandramani Pradhan and colleagues of Orissa, Gudumbaja dance by Shri Tuleshwar and colleagues of Dindori and Bundeli folk songs would be sung by Shri Gaya Prasad Prajapati and colleagues of Raisen.
Organized presentations of dance, singing in a two-day event in Vidisha
A two-day Mahadev Utsav is being organized on Mahashivratri in Vidisha’s Gram Panchayat Amkheda Kalu. It will feature dance and singing performances centered on Lord Shiva. On the first day of the function, there will be Malvi folk singing by Shri Mangilal Kulshrestha and colleagues of Agar Malwa, Ardhanarishvar dance drama by Kala Samiti of Bhopal and Shri K. Damodar Rao, Vani Rao and group will present devotional songs. On the second and last day Shri Debjani Basu and colleagues of Kolkata will perform Shiv Stuti in Kathak dance style and Shri Surya Prakash Srivastava of Bhopal and colleagues and Shri Akhilesh Tiwari and colleagues will present devotional songs. On the day of Mahashivratri, there will be a painting camp based on Lord Shiva by the artists of Lalit Kala Sansthan, Gwalior from 11 am to 8 pm.
Om Shiva Sarvamayam Bharatanatyam in Mandsaur
Sushri Sandhya Purecha and group of Mumbai will perform Om Shiv Sarvamayam Bharatnatya dance form forcussed on Lord Shiva at Mahadev Parisar in the famous Pashupatinath Temple Mandsaur. Shiva Mahima Bhakti will be sung by Sushri Kirti Dubey of Bhopal and her group and Sugandevi and group of Mandsaur. Painting camp and exhibition based on Lord Shiva will also be organized by the artists of Government Institute of Fine Arts, Dhar from 12 noon on the day of Mahashivratri.
