Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu today informed that for the benefit of more than 65,000 consumers of Haibowal Kalan, Haibowal Khurd, Partap Singh Wala, Dairy Complex, Hambran Road, Balloke, Jassian Road, Chuharpur, Ladian, Rishi Nagar and other adjoining areas, a sub divisional office would come up at 500 sq yards of MC land adjoining fire station on Hambran Road, here. He informed that for timely redressal of power related complaints, two SDOs and other staff would be deputed in this office.
Ashu informed this while inaugurating a 24×7 PSPCL Nodal Complaint Center at Hambran Road, here today. He informed that functioning of this nodal center will ensure timely resolution of power related consumer complaints. A fully equipped complaint handling vehicle was also flagged off, which will facilitate in providing an uninterrupted power supply to the consumers.
The Cabinet Minister informed that earlier, the area residents had to visit PSPCL’s Sarabha Nagar office for either paying bills or for the redressal of their complaints. He said that when the new Sub Divisional Office comes up on Hambran Road, it would benefit a large number of area residents.
On this occasion, Bharat Bhushan Ashu also distributed LED bulbs to general consumers under the PSPCL Kifayati LED Bulb Yojana 2021 and highlighted the benefits of energy conservation by adopting different methods like using appliances with 5 star ratings, using LED bulbs etc.
He informed that under the PSPCL Kifayati LED Bulb Yojana 2021, anyone can purchase LED bulb worth Rs 70 by paying just Rs 30, whereas people from either below poverty line or scheduled caste or backward class category will get the same bulb for Rs 15. He said that people can get bulbs by showing their Aadhaar card and two bulbs per consumer would be provided. He said that special camps regarding this would be organised in different parts of Ludhiana, so that everyone can contribute in energy conservation.
Further, Bhupinder Khosla, Chief Engineer Central and Sanjeev Prabhakar, Deputy Chief Engineer West thanked cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu and mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu for inaugurating the nodal center and alloting the land for construction of sub-division office.
