JAMMU, JUNE 3, 2021: Authorities of Government Medical College Jammu and Associated Hospital have decided to de- notify Psychiatric Disease Hospital and Super Speciality Hospital Jammu for COVID-19.
As per the GMC authorities, earlier, these hospitals were being used for management of Covid patients. “This arrangement shall be subject to review and all the Sops/guidelines regarding COVID-19 management shall get re-operationalized in case of an increase in COVID-19 patients” the authorities said.
It was informed that earlier, the Principal GMC & AH Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma reviewed the Covid-19 situation with Medical Superintendents and HoDs. “After threadbare discussion it was decided that in view of reduction in the number of COVID-19 positive cases to de-reserve these hospitals”. It is expected that the decision shall go a long way in improving non covid patient care.
It is pertinent to mention here that Psychiatric Disease Hospital is already COVID-19 de-notified and would be shifting back to the indoor services and OPD from 4.06.2021, while Super Speciality Hospital would be COVID-19 de-notified from today i.e. 4.06.2021.
Also the COVID wards No 7 and 8 of SMGS hospital and Ward No 15 of GMCH will be denotified to switch over to the Non COVID care also in a guarded and phased manner.
Meanwhile, the Internal assessment exams of MBBS students have been scheduled under all COVID SOPs after two weeks in view of the declining trend of COVID. However all the decisions are subject to revision depending upon the trend of the pandemic in Jammu region.
