Educational Institutions under the aegis of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council organized a special Gurmat Samagam today dedicated to the 552nd Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. After the bhog of Sehaj Paath, recitation of Sukhmani Sahib and Kirtan, Dr. Balwinder Singh from Department of Economics, GHG College, Gurusar Sadhar while sharing his ideas with the sangat said that educational institutions run under Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council impart quality education to the students in the light of universal teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji and also inculcate moral values in them.

Such academic platforms are being continuously set up by the Gujranwala Institutions keeping in view the objective of following the path laid down by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. These institutions are spreading the light of Divine Word of Guru Nanak Dev in every corner of society and taking meaningful steps to put ethical values into practice in the true sense of the word.
On this occasion, Dr. S. P. Singh, Former Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and President, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council, while expressing his views said that it is the academic and moral duty to make every effort to make today’s young generation aware of Guru Nanak’s philosophy and global concerns so that they can make the concepts of unity of God, universal brotherhood, mutual cooperation and equality an integral part of their lifestyle.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Bhalla Principal of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College said on this occasion that, 552 years ago, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji gave us the concept of an ideal society and an ideal state which is based on principles of freedom, equality, brotherhood, respect for human dignity, secularism and human unity. He also said that if we make the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji a part of our life then we can succeed in establishing ideal social, economic and political institutions for the welfare of masses.
In the end of the programme Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, the Director of GGNIMT and GGNIVS thanked the sangat and said that the educational institutions under the aegis of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council have been working continuously and tirelessly to spread the philosophy of Guru Nanak amongst the students.
The celebration ended with Guru ka Langar (community kitchen service). All the members of the Gujranwala Khalsa Education Council, heads of the institutions of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council, the staff members and students were present during this programme.
