Chandigarh August 7 – Author, freelance journalist and political ideologue Harcharan S Bains has been appointed Principal Advisor to the SAD president Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal
A long time close associate to the former CM Parkash Singh Badal , Mr Bains has also been made permanent invitee to all the top decision making bodies of the party including the core committee in an advisory capacity, said Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal in a statement here Friday
A formal announcement to this effect was made by Mr Badal himself in a statement here this afternoon. Mr Badal said that Mr Bains will have “over-riding powers to create and implement the perception management strategies on the policies , programmes and profile of the party. He will be accountable only to the president.
Thanking the party patron in chief Sardar Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal for the trust reposed in him , Mr Bains in a statement said that his first task is “to expose the deep-rooted conspiracy by anti Sikh forces to sow seeds of suspicion in the minds of the devout Sikh masses and turn them against their great religious and political institutions, headed by Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and including the SGPC and the SAD. It is important to defeat this conspiracy to divide the Sikh masses on the one hand and their historic “defender institutions” on the other to render the community leaderless and thrown at the mercy of of the known anti Sikh forces.”
Mr Bains said that he will assume charge of his new assignment after seeking blessings from the Guru Sahiban at Sri Harmandar Sahib.EOM
