Special vaccination programme will be organized from March 7, 2022 to March 13, 2022
Chandigarh, March 11 :– Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sh. Anil Vij has said that the State Government has started organizing Special Immunization Week (SIW) in all the districts of Haryana except Mewat, Palwal and Panipat from March 7, 2022 and this will continue till March 13, 2022.
Mewat, Palwal and Panipat have been included in Intensive Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 4.0 under the Government of India’s programme “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
The Health Minister informed that till March 10, 2022, 7,405 sessions have been conducted in which 1,78,012 children (0-2 years) and 10,438 pregnant women have been vaccinated. During these sessions, 46,285 children were vaccinated against DPT 5, 83,807 children were vaccinated against Td 10 and 64,963 children were vaccinated against Td 16.
He said that Intensified Mission Indradhanush 4.0-Mission Indradhanush is the flagship initiative of the government. Government of India has been working at the highest level under Mission Indradhanush to improve immunization coverage in districts over the years to increase immunization coverage by vaccinating all partially vaccinated children (up to 2 years) and pregnant women as per the routine immunization programme.
The Health Minister said that the Government of India, committed to improve immunization coverage, has now launched Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 4.0 in selected districts of India. In Haryana State 3 districts (Mewat, Palwal and Panipat) have been included for Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 4.0 under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. IMI 4.0 aims to cover unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children below 2 years of age with more than 90% immunization coverage and uninfected pregnant women.
He informed that three rounds of Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 4.0 are being organized in Mewat, Palwal and Panipat districts. Each round will be held for seven days, including RI days, Sundays and public holidays, with Round 1 starting on 7 March 2022, Round 2 starting 4 April 2022, Round 3 starting 2 May 2022.
He informed that the first round has started on March 7, 2022 and sessions have been conducted till March 10, 1573 in which 17,743 children (0-2 years) and 4,622 pregnant women have been vaccinated.
