The procurement of Kharif crops in Haryana will begin from October 1

Chandigarh, September 19 :- In Haryana, the procurement of Kharif of pulses and oilseeds namely moong, groundnut, arhar , urad and til will begin in more than 100 mandis from October 1, 2022.

While reviewing the arrangements of procurement of these crops for marketing season – 2022-23, the Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal directed the officers to make arrangements of hassle free procurement of these crops so that farmers do not face any inconvenience.

Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal directed that the procurement of crops, its storage and arrangement of gunny bags in the mandis should be ensured in a time bound manner so that there is no problem during the procurement process.

This year Haryana is expecting the estimated production of 41,850 metric tonnes of moong, 1044 MT of Arhar, 364 MT of Urad, 425 MT of Til and 10,011 MT of Groundnut.

It was informed in the meeting that the procurement of Moong will start from October 1 and will continue till November 15, 2022. Groundnut will be procured from November 1 to December 31. Apart from this, the procurement of Arhar, Urad and Til will start from December 1 to 31. The Kharif crops will be procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP) announced by the Government of India. It was informed in the meeting that apart from the state procurement agencies like Haryana State Warehousing Corporation and HAFED, the Kharif crops will be procured by NAFED.

It was informed in the meeting that arrangements of more than 100 mandis have been set up for procurement of these crops. As many as 38 mandis have been set up in 16 districts for the purchase of moong, 22 mandis in 18 districts for the purchase of arhar, 10 mandis in 7 districts for the purchase of urad, 7 mandis in 3 districts for the purchase of groundnut and for the procurement of til 27 mandis have been opened in 21 districts.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Dr. Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance and Planning Department, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Commissioner & Secretary to Government, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Sh. Pankaj Agarwal, Director General, Agriculture Department, Sh. Hardeep Singh, Chief Administrator, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Sh. Sujan Singh, Managing Director, Haryana State Warehousing Corporation Ltd., Dr. Shaleen and other officers were present.
