Haryana Health Department today successfully conducted dry run of the COVID-19 vaccine roll out in 22 districts
Chandigarh, January 7– Haryana Health Department today successfully conducted dry run of the COVID-19 vaccine roll out in 22 districts in which 3,300 beneficiaries were included and 132 sessions were held at six identified session sites (3 urban, including slum and 3 rural sites) in each district.
Several end-to-end activities like identification of vaccinators and supervisors, identification of session sites with PIN code tagging , sending of messages to beneficiaries for COVID-19 vaccination were smoothly carried out during this dry run.
Sharing more details in this regard, Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Rajeev Arora said that the dry run was closely monitored and at one of the sites in rural area in District Gurugram, World Health Organization (WHO) Country Head (India), Dr. Roderico H Ofrin was present. Mr. Arora said that Dr. Roderico H Ofrin along with Civil Surgeon and DIO had visited one rural session site (PHC Bangrola), where he appreciated the efforts put in by health officers in preparedness and implementation of dry run. He also appreciated the quality capacity building and trainings of Health Care Workers (HCWs) for dry the dry run.
Listing out the steps taken by the Department to ensure flawless dry run of the COVID-19 vaccine, Mr. Arora said that various activities like the identification of vaccinators and supervisors, identification of session sites with PIN code tagging, identification of adverse events following immunization (AEFI) management sites and revamping of AEFI Committees, sending messages to beneficiaries for COVID-19 vaccination, verification of beneficiaries at session site, registering vaccination digitally on vaccinator module, session site management (with test beneficiaries were conducted today.
Sharing the purpose of conducting the dry run, Mr. Arora said that the dry run is being conducted as part of preparations for successful roll out of the massive vaccination campaign and to identify any bottlenecks or glitches in operational and technical aspects of implementation.
Earlier on January 4, 2021 hands on training on operationalization and use of CoWIN platform for vaccine and beneficiary management was also given to all District Immunization Officers and their team with the support of World Health Organization (WHO) and United National Development Programme (UNDP).
