Chandigarh, June 9 :- – In a major action against proclaimed offenders (POs), Haryana Police has attached properties worth over Rs 14 lakh of such offenders in Panipat district. The accused were declared PO in a cheating case in February 2020 for not appearing in the court.
Sharing the information here today, the Haryana Police spokesperson informed that in the year 2018, Rajeev Leekha, a resident of Sector 12 had filed a complaint against firm owner Sahil Guglani, firm members Satish Guglani and Sushant, and their spouses regarding embezzlement and cheating of crores of rupees in Chandni Bagh Police station, Panipat.
It was informed in the complaint that the accused were doing yarn trading, manufacturing and related business. The accused took raw material worth crores of rupees on a credit basis from the complainant and many other firms and sold the same in scrap in cash at a low price. The accused have fled the town by duping them of crores of rupees. On the complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections of IPC.
The accused were declared PO by the court in February 2020 for not appearing in the court. In addition to making efforts to nab the accused, police has got freezed the properties of the accused worth Rs 14,32,984 from the court.
The legal process is also being implemented by the police to attach the movable and immovable properties of other such absconding accused, he added.
