Chandigarh, August 3– Haryana State Election Commissioner, Sh. Dhanpat Singh informed that the voter list of Panchayati Raj elections will be prepared according to the voter list of the Vidhan Sabha elections, and this voter list will be distributed ward-wise.

Sh. Singh was addressing a meeting of officials in Narnaul today regarding the upcoming elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions. During this, he also gave necessary directions to the officials regarding preparation for elections.

He made it clear that before enrolling in the voter list for future elections, citizens will have to first enroll their names in the Vidhan Sabha list. Only after that will they be able to get their name registered in the electoral roll for the Panchayati Raj Institutions. He said that the name of any candidate would be considered correct only on the basis of the name given in his/her educational certificate.

The State Election Commissioner further said that in addition to the Panchayati Raj elections, elections for urban bodies are also to be held at some places, so the officials of the Municipal Council should also complete their preparations in the same way. All the officers should ensure that if there is any complaint related to the voter list, then it should be resolved on priority basis as per the rules.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Mahendragarh, Sh. Ajay Kumar, and other senior officers were present during the meeting.
