Haryana’s Colleges and Universities to be tobacco-free from January 26, 2021

Chandigarh, January 22– Haryana’s Colleges and Universities will be tobacco-free from January 26, 2021.

To spread awareness among students in this regard various steps will be taken like writing slogans in the institutes and appointing nodal officers to caution the students about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption.

In the said awareness campaign the Haryana’s Education and Health Departments will work in coordination and will play a pivotal role.

Giving information in this regard an official spokesperson said that the Director General of Higher Education Department has directed all the State Universities and Private Universities in Haryana, besides all Government, Aided and Self-Finance Colleges to ensure that their educational institutions are Tobacco-free by January 26, 2021 and necessary steps should be taken to certain that it is maintained in future as well.
