Nowadays walking or running in the routine of people has become very less, due to which people sit for hours at one place and instead of healthy food, they eat fried and unhealthy food items. In such a situation, it is necessary to take care of your health and to control problems like cholesterol.
1.Green Tea
The most consumed liquid after water- green tea is a rich source of polyphenols. These compounds provide immense health benefits to the human body. The highest concentration in green tea is associated with polyphenols which not only lower LDL cholesterol but also increase HDL cholesterol.
2.Coriander
Solid coriander seeds have been used for many diseases in Ayurveda. Among the long list, reducing bad cholesterol is one of them. Coriander seeds contain several major vitamins, such as folic acid, vitamin A, and beta-carotene, and most importantly, vitamin C.
3.Fenugreek Seeds
Fenugreek seeds have been used since ancient times as a popular spice, flavour enhancing agent and medicinal plant. Fenugreek seeds are rich in vitamin E and have antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The saponins found in fenugreek help to remove cholesterol from the body and its fibre helps in reducing the synthesis in the liver. It is recommended to eat ½ to 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds daily.
4.Gooseberry
It is one of the most rich sources of vitamin C and phenolic compounds in addition to minerals and amino acids. Gooseberry fruit has been used in Ayurveda as a treatment for various diseases. Daily intake of it not only reduces bad cholesterol levels, but also reduces the damage caused by oxidation. One to two gooseberry fruits can be consumed daily.
