Instructions to focus on skill development in school education to increase job opportunities – School Education Minister Shri Singh

Review of Madhya Pradesh State Open School Education Board

School Education Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh said that employment opportunities can be increased only by developing skills among children and youth in the state. He said that special provisions have been made in the new education policy in this regard. Minister Shri Singh was addressing officials during the review of Madhya Pradesh State Open School Education Board today.

Minister Shri Singh said that there is a need to provide training in various disciplines by opening Utkrisht Kaushal Kendras in rural areas. He also instructed to reduce the number of dropout by reconnecting children with school education. The School Education Minister visited various branches of the State Open School Education Board for inspection and their the functioning.

During the meeting, Board Director Shri Prabhatraj Tiwari said that the Board’s Ruk Jana Nahi scheme has benefited children who left studies midway. About 5 lakh children in the state have passed the class 10th and 12th board exams by joining this scheme and have continued their further studies. The “Aa Laut Chalen” Yojana of the Board was also reviewed in the meeting. Two thousand students have taken advantage of this scheme. Director Shri Tiwari told that the Open School Board has adopted one government school each in 52 districts for quality improvement. The Board has made extensive improvements in the teaching system along with infrastructure all in these schools. Computer lab has also been started in every school.

 

It was also informed in the meeting that the Board conducts entrance examination for model schools and Schools of Excellence in the state, entrance examination for Super 100 along with entrance examination in Shramodaya Vidyalayas, CM Rise Schools. The Board has also received the first prize from the Atal Behari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance for its quality management system. It was informed in the meeting that the Board is working with the mission of “Sabke Liye Shiksha”. International level education is being provided on a single campus in Bhopal, Agar, Shujalpur, Chhatarpur, Morena, Indore, Sehore, Datia, Damoh, Dewas and Balaghat.

Arrangement has been made to issue marksheets and certificates to children under the joint brand of the United States agency NWAC, which will be valid in 42 countries of the world. This is making it easier for children to get employment in foreign countries.

During the meeting, the School Education Minister communicated with the operators of various centers through video conference.
