The Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Panchkula convicted a government official in a corruption case and sentenced him to 4 years in jail.

Sharing the details, a spokesperson of the Haryana State Vigilance Bureau said that the court has also imposed Rs 10,000 fine on the convict.
The guilty, identified as Devender Kumar, Kanoongo was arrested by the vigilance team during a raid in the year 2016 while accepting a bribe of Rs 10000 from the complainant in lieu of performing official duty.
The court has sentenced the imprisonment of 3-years along with Rs 5000 fine to the guilty official under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and 4-years imprisonment with a fine of Rs 5000 under section 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
