Manohar Lal directs officers to identify potential investors to establish Haryana as a global brand through ‘Go-Global Approach’

Chandigarh, January 11 : Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal has directed the concerned officers of Haryana Foreign Cooperation Department to identify potential investors across the world in order to establish Haryana as a global brand through ‘Go-Global Approach’.

The Chief Minister said this while presiding over the first review meeting of the newly formed Haryana Foreign Cooperation Department today.

During the meeting Director General and Secretary, Foreign Cooperation Department, Dr. Anant Prakash Pandey apprised the Chief Minister through a presentation regarding the activities being conducted by the Department.

He said that the Department is working towards promoting Haryana as a most preferred destination for investment from abroad as well as developing strong ties with academic institutions and Haryanvi diaspora for the socio-economic welfare of the region. He said that the Department aims to establish the State as a hub for industries, education, skill development and tourism.

He said that the Department has been holding active discussions with potential investors from all continents and is engaged in policy formulation and development of communication strategy for improving the business environment in Haryana.  He said that the Department is also working to collaborate with foreign Universities and companies in order to provide employment to the skilled youth of the state.

While appreciating the work done by the Department, the Chief Minister directed the officers to increase agro-based export and identify potential trade partners. Apart from this, he said that since manpower is a big asset of the State, ways to tap this potential should be explored.

He further directed to prepare a progress chart of the activities being conducted by the Department and give a presentation once every two or three months.

During the meeting, Chief Secretary, Vijai Vardhan, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, DS Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, TVSN Prasad, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, V Umashankar, Principal Secretary, Foreign Cooperation Department, Yogender Chaudhry, Managing Director, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Anurag Agarwal, Director, Industries and Commerce Department, Saket Kumar among other senior officers were also present.
