War Memorial of First Rebellion of Freedom Struggle of 1857 to be ready soon- Sh. Anil Vij

Chandigarh, January 28 – Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the construction work of War Memorial of First Rebellion of Freedom Struggle of 1857 is being built in Ambala Cantt in the memory of countless freedom fighters and unsung heroes of first war of independence of 1857. More than 80 per cent work has been completed and it will be ready soon.

Sh. Anil Vij was presiding over the review meeting of various departments in this regard here today. It is worth mentioning that this Memorial is being built by the Department of Information, Public Relations and Languages and is being built on an area of 22-acres.

Sh. Vij directed the officials to expedite the construction work of the memorial so that it can be opened for the visitors at the earliest. He said that this Memorial would developed into a major tourist hub, which would probably be the largest and  will also be equipped with modern technology.

War Memorial to be developed in three phases

It was informed in the meeting that the Memorial would be developed in three phases. Under the first phase, the turn of events related to the first battle of independence of 1857 in Ambala will be shown. In the second phase, where the first battle of independence was fought in Haryana will be described and in the third phase the freedom struggle of India, including stories of bravery of Rani of Jhansi, Bahadur Shah Zafar along with other freedom fighters will be described.

Modern technology-equipped monument will be one of its kind

It was told in the meeting that this monument would be one of its kind with latest technology in which today’s modern digital technology would be used to depict historical events. The plan of this battle of 1857 will also be shown with digital technology and how the freedom struggle continued for the next 90 years.

The memorial will also have a comprehensive description of the economic, political, administrative, religious and social conditions of 1857. Similarly, the museum to be set up in the memorial will display artifacts related to history.

It was informed in the meeting that digital Sankalp Stambh would also be installed in the memorial so that the people coming would take a pledge towards patriotism.

Open air theater will also be built

It was also informed in the meeting that an open air theater is also being built in the memorial in which the achievements of the Haryana government will be shown and a light and sound show will also be held.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department Dr. Amit Agrawal, Additional Director of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Sh. Kuldeep Saini and officers of various departments.
