In keeping with its tradition of performing the holy havan yajna at the beginning of every month, the Arya Samaj Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised havan here today.

Organised with the objective of inculcating vedic values in the students, havan is a monthly ritual at the college wherein the staff and students offer prayers to the holy fire amidst chanting of shlokas and mantras. Mrs. Saroj Miglani, a propagator of Arya Samaj and Vedic Values was Special Guest on this occasion. The staff members whose birthdays fall in the month of May were blessed with garlands by Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava.
In view of the upcoming examinations next month, Dr. Bhargava advised the students to give their best and wished them success. Sharing an inspiring anecdote from her own life, she motivated the students to dream big and then pursue that dream with dogged determination. She informed that the college has adopted a holistic approach to educating students wherein besides preparing the students for success, emphasis is also laid on inculcating moral values in them.
