The Personality Development Club of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with Foreign Student Cell of the college, organised an online interactive session titled ‘Building Resilience through Emotional Strength and Mind Power’. The resource person was Mr. Anurag Rishi, a Transformational and Motivational Speaker, Human Potential Trainer and a Life Coach. In a lively session, Mr. Rishi advised the participants about the ways to raise one’s vibrational energy by connecting with self and nature, practising gratitude, chanting Om (as frequency of Om resonates with that of healing) and helping others. Explaining human body as a chemical composition with spiritual experience, Mr. Rishi narrated real life examples and instances from inspirational books of Deepak Chopra, Nicola Tesla and Norman Cousins to shed light on ways to reduce stress and push up the happiness index. He suggested effective ways for building a strong, agile and resilient mind and also made the participants practice a breathing and visualization exercise for relaxation. Over 600 participants from the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan benefitted from this session.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava stressed upon the contextuality of this initiative particularly in the present troubled times of the pandemic. Adding that the quality of resilience can be acquired over a period of time, Dr. Bhargava said that a resilient human can withstand any situation and challenge in life.
